PST Inc. (hereinafter referred to as “PST”) has established the following privacy policy based on the code of conduct stipulated by itself to ensure the protection and management of personal information.

Basic Philosophy

We are engaged in research and development of technologies to analyze emotion, stress, depression, and pathology from the voice. In order to continue developing our business, it is an extremely important responsibility for us to ensure protection of the personal information we receive from our customers and our employees (hereinafter referred to as “personal information”).
We recognize our social responsibility to protect personal information, and we have established a privacy policy to be observed by all persons concerned, including our directors, employees, and partner company employees (hereinafter referred to as “employees”), who are involved with the personal information handled by our company.

Purposes of use of personal information

We will use the information we receive from our customers for the following purposes to the extent required to carry out our business operations:

  • Responding to customer inquiries and requests;
  • Communications related to the execution of contracts and transactions;
  • Our recruitment activities;
  • Employment management of our employees.

Operations of personal information

We may outsource the handling of personal information to third parties in order to execute transactions or provide services to our customers. In the case of outsourcing, we will conclude a contract and inspect the implementation status to ensure proper handling.
Personal information we receive directly from our customers will be handled in the following manner:

    Some of the websites we operate may use “cookies” in order to provide better services.
    A cookie is a data file that is sent to the customer’s browser from a website and may be stored as a file on the customer’s disk.
    The use of a cookie allows us to identify the computer being used by the customer, but we cannot identify the individual since no personal information is written in the cookie.
    Customers may set their browsers to disable cookies, but please note that doing so may limit some of our services.

  3. Disclosure and provision to third parties

    We will not disclose or provide personal information to third parties, except when we provide such information to an external contractor as described in “1. Outsourcing of personal information handling” and in any of the following cases:

    1. When the customer has given his/her consent;
    2. When disclosing or providing statistical data or other information in a form that does not allow for identification of the individual;
    3. When disclosure or provision of information is required by laws and regulations;
    4. When it is required for the protection of a person’s life, body, or property, and it is difficult to obtain the customer’s consent;
    5. When it is required to cooperate with the national or local government in the execution of public affairs, and obtaining the customer’s consent may interfere with the execution of such affairs;
    6. When personal information is disclosed to limited third parties, such as successors of related operations, who fill in personal information for the services operated by our company;
    7. When information is provided to the parties listed in the following Section 4.
  4. Disclosure

    When a customer requests disclosure of his or her own personal data in our possession, we will respond to the request within a reasonable period of time and to a reasonable extent after confirming the identity of the person making the request.

  5. Corrections, deletions, etc.

    When a customer requests correction, addition, or deletion of his or her own personal data in our possession, we will correct, add, or delete the information within a reasonable period of time and to a reasonable extent if the information is inaccurate after confirming the identity of the person making the request.

  6. Suspension of use and removal

    If a customer requests to suspend the use of or remove his or her own personal data in our possession, we will suspend the use of or remove the data within a reasonable period of time and to a reasonable extent after confirming the identity of the person making the request.
    We would appreciate your understanding and cooperation in the event that we suspend the use of or remove part or all of the information, and we may be unable to provide our services in accordance with your request.
    Please note that we may not be able to respond to a request to suspend the use of or remove the information in our possession in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations.

  7. Procedures for requesting disclosure, etc., and contact information

    Inquiries regarding the personal data in our possession described in Sections 4, 5, and 6 above, as well as any other inquiries regarding personal information, should be made in accordance with the following procedures. Please note that we may not be able to respond to requests for disclosure, etc. that do not follow these procedures.
